Paul Richard Johnson, born 09-09-58 Houston, TX. I started playing the guitar at the age of seven. My mother, Joyce Johnson, had a folk group in the mid 60's, she got me interested in music at an early age. Me and my buddy Hank Harper would go over to his house and watch his older brothers psychedelic band practice all the time. Then we would go jam on our acoustic guitars. I still have my 1st guitar, it's a Sears and Roebucks nylon string classical. The neck on it is huge. I don't know how I got my young hands around the damn thing. A few years later for Christmas I got a Vox amp and a better electric guitar (An Aria Les Paul Knockoff) and my brother Douglas Johnson got a Polaris drum set. We had a ball making lots of racket. The amps got much bigger, my dad, Richard Johnson, was a good sport; allowing me to store Marshall cabinets in the house. However he did notice that we were bug free during that time. From then a variety of bands led up to the guys that make up the Texas Terraplanes. I am very honored to be making music we these guys. Its always a ton of fun when we crank up. |
